Groundwork GDS has developed two web maps for the Methodist Church. The simpler, mobile-friendly Find a church lets the user search for Methodist churches using postcode or another keywords. The Advanced Version of the Methodist Webmap shows the extent of districts, circuits and network regions and displays detailed information of churches and church activity relative to the local context such as church membership and attendance. The webmap is updated annually with the latest data from the Statistics for Mission going back to the year 2002 together with publically available socio-demographic data (such as census / indices of deprivation) and data held by partner organisations. The information is presented in a way which aims to help users understand more about their churches, the people they serve, and the communities in which they are located. 

Both web maps were developed by a customized JavaScript build for the user interface, ArcGIS for mapping and is served by a MS SQL database.
